A few years back, Vilano Bikers ventured into producing SUPs. So far, the company has made iSUPs ranging from 10 to 12 feet long paddleboards.

We will start by looking at what the complete Navigator package contains. Then, outline the major features and benefits. Lastly, we will share the pros and cons of the board, so you can decide whether this paddleboard is the right one for you.

Let us get started!

Key Features

Construction

Vilano Bikes builds this paddleboard for all-around use. So like other all-around-use stand-up paddleboards, the construction must hold up in various conditions. This is why the brand uses high-grade PVC to make the Vilano Navigator 10. However, unlike other boards, the Vilano Navigator 10 only uses a disappointing single layer instead of a triple layer for durability.

The board feels like a solid paddleboard and offers maximum rigidity when fully inflated due to using drop-stitch technology. Its diamond grooved deck covers about half of the paddleboard. The foam deck gives traction and grip to prevent you from falling overboard while keeping you comfortable.

The three-piece paddle collapses for easy storage in the provided backpack. For your comfort, you can adjust the height of the paddle to between 65.5 and 86-inches, depending on your preference.

Unfortunately, the aluminum paddle feels heavier than others, which makes paddling hard for beginner paddlers. However, more seasoned paddlers should not experience any problems. It is also important to note that the paddle does not float. Therefore care must be taken while in the water.

Measurements and Performance

The Vilano Navigator measures 10.5-feet long, 32-inches wide, and 6-inches thick when fully inflated. Its length makes it easy to maneuver for all skill levels. Its 32-inch width and 6-inch thickness give beginners much-needed stability while on the water. Also, the width provides enough space to do some yoga and fish.

The board performs much better in flat waters than in choppy water, despite its design for all-around use in all water conditions.

It has a pointed nose and a flat tail that resembles that of a touring iSUP. The shape allows for users to move at a faster speed than boards that have a rounded nose and tail. In addition, its lightweight of 25lbs makes the board move more smoothly in the water. Therefore, this makes it suitable for river riding and leisure paddling.

Unlike other paddleboards its size, the Vilano Navigator comes with a single, detachable fin that adds to the smooth movement over the water. It also helps the board track straight over long distances.

The paddleboard is best suited for average-sized paddlers, as it has a maximum weight capacity of 280lbs. We, however, advise you to stick to no more than 250lbs.

The Vilano Navigator SUP only measures 1-foot in diameter and 36-inches-long when rolled and deflated, making it convenient to store in the backpack.

Accessories

As seen in the beginning, each package comes with some accessories. Some feature more commonly with other brands than others.

The large backpack carry bag has enough space to fit the deflated paddleboard and the entire kit with some space to spare. So, you still have room to keep your lifejacket or extra gear without having to jam them in or carry an extra bag. Apart from its spaciousness, the backpack provides for easy transportation and storage of the kit.

The Vilano Navigator SUP features a front action carry-mount to place your GoPro camera and capture all camera-worthy moments. Its four-point bungee cord storage system at the nose of the board gives you an area to securely keep your cargo. The package also comes with a cool, mini dry bag to keep your valuables safe and dry while having fun in the water.

The SUP also features seven D-rings to attach various items. You can use the four found on the grooved deck pad to tether a kayak seat or cool box. You can also add an extra bungee cord storage space if needed.  Attach your coiled ankle leash to the other D-ring at the tail of the paddleboard to ensure you stay attached to the board in case you fall into the water.

The last two D-rings are found on the side of the board and are used to attach the shoulder strap. The strap makes the movement to and from the water more convenient. You may also choose to use the carry handle at the center of the Vilano SUP to haul your paddleboard.

Finally, the package features a valve wrench that helps you perform routine maintenance. It especially comes in handy when the valve becomes loose and starts causing air leaks with time. When this happens, tighten the valve using the wrench to cut off any leaks.
